Odisha: Over 300 meritorious students, who passed Class 12, yet to avail free laptops scheme

Bhubaneswar: More than 300 students of Odisha, who passed Class 12 with merits in 2021, have not applied to get the free laptops provided by the State government. This has been highlighted in a letter to the Principals of Higher Secondary Schools in the State.

The Department of Higher Education in the letter today asked the Principals of the Higher Secondary Schools to take steps to intimate and guide the students who are eligible to get the laptops through DBT scheme. The letter added such students can apply on the state’s scholarship portal—scholarship.odisha.gov.in—within May 31, 2022.

The maximum number of 29 students of Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School, Cuttack have not availed the free laptops scheme so far.

The list of the students who have been selected as beneficiary of the scheme are available on the website—dhe.odisha.gov.in, the letter added.

This year the scheme was launched on March 29, 2022.
