Odisha: Over 500 CCTVs to guard Puri town during heritage corridor inauguration

Bhubaneswar: The administration will install over 500 CCTV cameras across Odisha’s Puri town ahead of the inauguration of Jagannath temple Heritage Corridor project on January 17.

The entire Grand Road and the surroundings of the 12th century shrine will be put under CCTV camera surveillance ahead of the mega event, said a senior police officer today.

CCTV cameras will be installed on the Grand Road, Jagannath temple surroundings, traffic junctions, parking lots and other vantage points in Puri town as part of foolproof security arrangements for the event,” said an official of the district administration.

The officials have been asked to install the CCTVs by January 10.
