Odisha panchayat polls: BJD alleges poll code violation by BJP

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Feb 19:

Odisha’s ruling party BJD today complained before the State Election Commissioner (SEC) Rabi Narayan Senapati against the BJP for violating the model code of conduct.

The BJD has alleged before the Commission that the BJP has been roping in its leaders from neighbouring Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh to garner votes. +

The BJD demanded that the saffron party submit details of the money spent for these leaders with the Commission.

The party through a memorandum urged the Commissioner for a formal inquiry into BJP secretly bringing in hundreds of its leaders from neighbouring states without the knowledge of the Commission.
