Odisha parents’ association urges parents not to pay school fees

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangh, an outfit of parents of school students, today requested all the parents not to pay fees to private schools till July 31, 2020. The parents’ association asked the parents of students studying in private schools to wait for the Orissa High Court order as the matter is sub-judice.

The association also requested the Odisha government to direct the private school for waiver of fees. As the schools and educational institutions have been asked to remain closed till July 31, the State government should ask them to waive the fees.

‘No School, No Fee’ section must come into force in this situation, the association demanded in a presser organized in Bhubaneswar.

In its interim order, the HC said schools cannot stop any student from attending online classes if he/she does not pay school fees. However, the schools are threatening parents on several occasions demanding school fees, said an office bearer of the association.
