Odisha: Passenger train engine travels 5 km leaving behind 3 bogies at Puri station

Puri: In yet another incident of train engine detachment from bogies, an engine of Puri-Cuttack passenger train traveled around 5 km leaving behind three bogies at Puri railway station here this morning.

The train travelled around 5 km without three bogies from the behind. Later, it returned to the station and picked the bogies at around 8.28 am.

This reminds us of another incident took place on April 7 this year when an engine was detached from Ahmedabad-Puri Express train at Titlagarh. The major mishap was averted when the coaches of Ahmedabad-Puri Express train began rolling down towards Kesinga due to non-application of skid-brake on the wheels by staff concerned. While the coaches chugged along in the opposite direction for around 13 km, alert Railway staff brought them to halt by putting stones on the tracks.
