Odisha: ‘Patha Utsav’ to hit the roads again in State Capital from December 24

Bhubaneswar: This season’s first edition of ‘Patha Utsav’ will be organised on the Janpath in Bhubaneswar on December 24 (Sunday) morning. The event will be organised in Ekamra and Patia on January 7 and January 21, respectively, a Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) source said.

“We have intensified our preparation for the ‘Patha Utsav’. Two contract firms have given presentations on their respective proposals and preparations to the civic body. A team of experts constituted by BMC will review the proposals and take a final call in this regard. Special zones supposed to be prepared for children and pet animals would be the main attractions of ‘Patha Utsav’,” a senior official stated.

The first edition will be conducted on Janpath stretching from Master Canteen Square up to Ram Mandir Square and on both sides of the road. On the main stage near Master Canteen Square, some noted artistes will perform a cultural extravaganza and local talents will be allowed to perform on another stage at Ram Mandir Square.

A ‘Kids Zone’ will be made for children alone. However, at the ‘Pets Zone’, people will be allowed to exhibit their domesticated animals and showcase the talents of pets as well. Moreover, an ‘Old Age Zone’ will be dedicated to senior citizens, which is meant for their entertainment and physical exercise, the BMC source expressed.

Various items of millet will be available for sale during the event. As Christmas is falling the next day, different types of Santa Claus will be exhibited.

Notably, the event will start at 6.30 am and will continue till 9.30 am.
