Odisha: Patient flees after leaving snake in hospital

Dhenkanal: In a bizarre incident, a patient escaped after leaving a snake in hospital in Dhenkanal district.

The incident was reported from Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital.

According to reports, a woman patient bitten by a snake had visited the DHH for treatment today morning. She had brought a snake concealing it in a plastic container.

However, the snake bite patient suddenly disappeared from the hospital after leaving the plastic jar containing a snake in front of the OPD.

As she did not come for a long hour, other patients and visitors crowded the hospital OPD to see the snake.

The snake has been identified as a common sand boa and is nonvenomous.

Later, the hospital authorities informed wildlife and snake helpline members for rescue of the snake.

The snake helpline members released the snake into forest following its rescue.
