The state government’s decision in this regard was communicated to the CHSE Chairman Dr Basudev Chattoi on Friday in a letter from Durga Prasad Behera, additional secretary, Higher Education department.

While refunding of rechecking/ re-addition fees is a bit of a good news for the students who have suffered at the hands of irresponsible examiners, it’s bad news for the examiners who were at fault.

The letter from the Higher Education departments has asked the CHSE to submit  names of examiners, deputy examiners and chief examiner who were in-charge of supervision of the evaluation zone in cases where answer sheets undergo change in marks (both plus and minus).

The government has decided to first issue show cause notices to examiners responsible for faulty evaluation. This will be followed by disciplinary action against the errant examiners. Examiners found responsible for faulty evaluation will not be paid their remuneration or DA for evaluating answer sheets.

The CHSE, which is under fire for faulty evaluation since the publication Plus Two annual examination results, has received rechecking/ re-addition applications from around 25,000 examinees till date.

The government has announced June 30 as the last date for receiving applications for rechecking/re-addition of answer sheets.

Applicants have to deposit a fee of Rs 100 for re-addition of a single paper and an additional fee of Rs 200 to get a Xerox copy of the same. Students can apply for rechecking/ re-addition of answer sheets at the CHSE head office here, branch offices at Brahmapur, Sambalpur and Baripada and also in their respective colleges. The rechecking / re-addition process is continuing at the CHSE headquarters here.
