Odisha: Plus II exam centres to be under CCTV vigil

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government decided to put all 1,143 Plus II exam centres under CCTV surveillance. This was informed by School and Mass Education Secretary Chithra Arumugam after a review meeting under chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy here today.

The Chief Secretary held video-conferencing with District Collectors and SPs on preparations for the annual Plus II exam beginning from March 3, 2020. Among others, Development Commissioner, Mass Education Secretary, Police ADG and Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) officials were present in the meeting.

Worth mentioning, around 3,50,800 students of 1,628 higher secondary schools and junior colleges will appear for the Plus II exam this year, conducted by the CHSE. The School and Mass Education department has set up 202 hubs for safe keeping of question papers during the examination.

Sources said students, teachers and supervisors will undergo checking twice before entering examination hall.

Police patrolling units will be kept on stand by and reach the exam centres within a short span of time in case of any urgency.
