In a major breakthrough, a special of the Odisha police today nabbed A Chandra Rao-the person who had given shelter most wanted Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in his house before his arrest.
According to Berhampur additional S P Trinath Patel, a special team of the police arrested Rao today while he had come to a private nursing home here for treatment today.
“I didn’t know Sabyasachi. He identifying himself as Gopal Das, a rice trader had stayed in our house. He had also told the same to my mother. Later when the police started searching for me, out of fear I was not coming to my house and had gone into hiding,” Rao said after his arrest.
It may be recalled here that police had arrested Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda Chandra Rao’s house at Marthapeta Sahi under Bada Bazaar police limits of Behampur town on July 18, 2014.
The Maoist leader is currently lodged in the Berhampur Jail as an under trial prisoner.
