Odisha police arrests one in Hindalco power chief death threat case

Odisha police have arrested a contractor for allegedly giving death threat to power head of  Hindalco in Hirakhud, Odisha.

Police on Thursday arrested  a contractor Saumyaranjan Pani for allegedly giving death threats over phone to Rakesh Gupta the power chief of Hindalco in Hirakhud .

Notebly, Gupta had received a phone call on March 30 threathing to kill him if he did no give jobs to the callers men.

Gupta had filed a  police complaint in the Hirakhud police on March 31. Police tracked the number from which the call was made and had traced it to Basant Vihar colony in Burla.

They had then detained Titu swain, an electric mechanic, who during  interrogation confessed that he had lent his phone to Pani.
