Odisha police bust vehicle lifting gang in Sambalpur

Sambalpur, Apr 30:

Police in Odisha’s district headquarters town Sambalpur today busted an intra-state vehicle lifting gang and recovered 19 stolen vehicles from it.

Ainthapali police have arrested three persons in this connection and forwarded them to court.

The recovered vehicles include trucks, SUVs, pick-up vans, power tillers, and motorbikes.

The arrested have been identified as Ranjit Prasad of Sambalpur, Prashant alias Pramod Nayak of Dhenkanal and Pradip Kumar Sabar of Sunabeda.

“Earlier three members of the gang were arrested and today another three were arrested while two are still absconding. We have in total recovered 19 vehicles from them. Out of the 19 vehicles, recovered-16 are four wheelers which include Bolero, Bolero pick-up, truck and power tillers. Six- seven bikes have been also recovered. Most of the vehicles were stolen from Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Angul and Sambalpur,” informed Akhilesh Singh, SP Sambalpur speaking to reporters at a press conference here.
