Odisha Police deputes four DSPs, additional forces to Ganjam

Ganjam: In view of increase in COVID-19 cases, the Odisha Police deputed four young Deputy SPs and four more platoons of police force to Ganjam district. This was informed by Odisha DGP Abhay today.

All the police personnel have reported for duty today, the DGP added.

Earlier in the day, the Odisha government deployed two IAS officers in Ganjam district for COVID-19 management. IAS officer Parul Patwari has been given charge of Chhatrapur Sub Division whereas Vishal Singh has been deputed to Bhanjanagar Sub Division.

Few days back, the government deployed six OAS officers to the district to assist in COVID-19 management.

Till now, a total of 2,066 positive cases have been detected in Ganjam district.
