Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University Vice-Chancellor Amit Banerjee today appeared for the second time in a day before the Khandagiri police to answer queries pertaining to the major fire in the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital in the Odisha capital on last Monday in which 19 patients were killed due to asphyxiation and eight others have succumbed till date after being relocated to other hospitals.
SUM Hospital is an affiliated institution of SOA University.
Banerjee who had appeared before the Khandagiri police in the morning appeared before it again in the afternoon.
The VC told reporters that he had replied to every question asked of him and had submitted whichever documents were sought by them.
“I have answered whatever questions they asked. Since the matter is under investigation I cannot reveal anything. Further, my revealing it to you will be considered as an unlawful activity since the matter is sub judice,” said Banerjee to reporters avoiding to give details.
