Odisha Police invites Online Application for SI, Constable posts; Check details

Cuttack: Amidst job crisis during COVID-19 pandemic, Odisha Police has issued a notification inviting online applications for recruitment to Sub-Inspector (SI) and Constable Communication posts.

Briefing a presser, Odisha DGP Abhay today asked young people to join Odisha Police to serve the State.

“I invite all qualified men and women to join Odisha Police that will give you a very good career and an opportunity to serve the State,” DGP said.

There are two advertisements for recruitment to 477 SI posts and 244 Constable Communication posts. The application portal will be opened from June 22 till July 15.

The DGP invited application from all young men and women for recruitment to the post of SI, which is the chief cadre of Odisha Police, and Constable Communication, a technical cadre.

While the minimum qualification for the post of SI is graduation, the qualification for Constable Communication is Plus II with Diploma degree in Computer Application. The exam will be conducted with a slight change in pattern this year, he said.

Eligibility for SI posts:

Age limit: Fresh candidates must not be below 21 years and above 25 years as on 1.1.2021. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Educational Qualification: (a) Must have passed a Bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognised university. (b) Must have passed Odia as one of the subjects In the High School Certificate Examination or an examination in Odia Language equivalent to M.E. standard recognized or conducted by the School and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha.

Exam pattern: The recruitment process consists of written test that carries multiple choice questions, physical measurement test and physical efficiency test.

Eligibility for Constable Communication posts:

Age limit: Must not be less than 18 years and above 23 years as on 1.1.2021. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Educational Qualification: (a) Must have passed Plus II or equivalent Examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or by any other recognized Board or Council. (b) Must have passed Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent Course from a recognized institution duly affiliated by the Government. (c) Must have passed Odia as one of the subjects In the High School Certificate Examination or an examination in Odia Language equivalent to M.E. standard recognized or conducted by the School and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha.

Exam pattern: The recruitment process consists of written test that carries multiple choice questions, physical measurement test and physical efficiency test.
