Odisha police issues guidelines for tight security in hotels

Bhubaneswar: The recent incidents of terrorism and other heinous crimes in several parts of the country and worldwide has prompted the Odisha Police to issue a fresh list of guidelines to beef up security at hotels, lodges, restaurants and guest houses.

Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) today issued a new set of guidelines to the owners and managers of hotels, restaurants, lodges and guest houses in all districts of the State.

The top cop also laid emphasis on installing CCTV cameras on the premises of hotels including at entry, exit, corridor and parking areas.

The DGP, in the letter, has directed all Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate of Police, to ensure proper implementation of the guidelines under their jurisdiction.

The above instructions are mandatory to follow as per the law and in case of non-compliance of those provisions, legal action can be initiated, the letter stated.
