Odisha police nab Ramesh Jena’s aide

Notorious criminal Jitu Sethi, a close aide of arrested former Odisha MLA Ramesh Jena was today injured in an encounter with the police.

Sethi who was on the most wanted list of the police has sustained bullet injuries on his left leg during the exchange of fire and has been admitted to the MKCG Medical College & Hospital.

Acting on a tip-off that Sethi was hiding in the cashew plantation near the Dhabaleswar temple in Gopalpur area police personnel of Golanthara and Gopalpur police stations conducted a joint raid in the plantation to nab him.

During the raid Sethi allegedly fired three rounds on the police and was injured in the return fire.

Sethi has as many as 14 criminal cases against him in different police stations which include serious offences like murder.

As per available information, Sethi has six cases pending against him at the Gopalpur police station, four at BN Pur police station and four in other police stations.
