Odisha police nabs member of fake currency racket

Jajpur, Aug 17:

Police today arrested one Amarjit Sahani from Dolipur in Odisha’s Jajpur district for his alleged involvement in an inter-state fake currency racket.

Amarjit, a native of Begusarai district of Bihar was in hiding and was selling pani puri in Dolipur for the last four months, police sources said.

He was allegedly a member of an inter-state fake currency racket and was declared absconder by the Bihar police, the sources added.

Based on information provided by Bihar police, its counterparts here had kept an eye on Amarjit for some time and arrested him today.

Police suspect Amarjit of having links with national and international terrorist organizations and are quizzing him on that account at the Jajpur Road police station.

On the other hand, Bihar police are on their way to Jajpur Road to take Amarjit in custody in connection with pending cases against him there.
