The Twin City Commissionerate Police today recorded a statement of Lopamudra Mishra-daughter-in-law of Odisha industrialist Trailokya Mishra under section 161 CrPC at the Mahila Police Station here.
The police recorded her statement in connection with the complaint lodged by her in which she has alleged of being subjected to physical and mental torture by her husband Sabyasachi Mishra and his family members for dowry.
The Commissionerate police have posted a home guard at her place of residence to provide security to her.
It may be recalled here that Lopamudra had on Wednesday lodged a complaint at the Badagada police station here that five to six unidentified young men on Tuesday late in the evening had barged into her parental home at Tankapani Road where she is currently residing.
In the complaint, she had stated that these men had threatened to kill her apart from warning her to kidnap her son if she went to the police or media against her husband-Sabyasachi Mishra and his father-Trailokya Mishra.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Lopamudra had lodged a complaint at the Mahila Police Station on May 10 vide case no. 117/2016 alleging to have been subjected to physical and mental torture for dowry by her husband and her in-laws.
Since no action was taken by the police even after a month of her lodging the complaint with the police she revealed her story of torture before the media.
Lopamudra even alleged that her husband had proposed to her for wife-swapping when they were on a visit to Port Blair.
