Odisha police recover Rs 20 lakh, iron chest looted from co-op bank

Rourkela, June 10:

Police today recovered Rs 19.86 lakh looted from the Badagaon branch of the Sundergarh Central Cooperative Bank in Odisha on Friday, police sources said.

The iron chest with the enire amount intact was recovered from a pond at Litipada near Badagaon, police said.

Police suspect robbers had little option than to throw the looted iron chest into the pond after failing in their attempts to break it open and lay their hands on the cash.
