Odisha police response to cyclone FANI complied as documentary

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today released a documentary on ‘Police Response to Cyclone FANI-2019’ at the state Secretariat here today.

CM Naveen lauded the outstanding work done by the Odisha police in all domains and spheres before, during and in the aftermath of FANI by reaching out to affected people in distress and bringing succor to them by all possible means.

The documentary showcases the efforts of Odisha police in rescuing and rehabilitating affected people during and post cyclone FANI that hit the Odisha coast on May 3. It illustrates how the Odisha cops played a crucial role in management of law and order, road clearance, distribution of relief and restoration works.

The Odisha police also exhibited its humane face post cyclone by distributing cook food to more than one lakh people in different locations of Puri under ‘KARUNA’ scheme.

The short film has been prepared to document the good work done by the Odisha police for information of all.The report can also serve as a reference and a guide for the cops for any such natural calamity in the future.

Chief Secretary AP Padhi and Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Asit Kumar Tripathy were present among several senior officers of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
