Odisha police takes gangster Tito on fresh remand

Kendrapara: The Kendrapara Town police today took the notorious gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito on remand for two more days.

The Kendrapara SDJM Court allowed the cops to take him on fresh remand after he was produced before the court by Marsaghai police earlier in the day.

Sources in the police said the gangster is likely to interrogated in connection with the abduction of Siba Parida, a contractor in the district.

In September last year, three motorcycle-borne miscreants, who were suspected the aides of Tito, had kidnapped the contractor from his home at Kajala village of Kendrapara district. He, however, was released unhurt on the same day.

Source said the Marsaghai police has reopened two murder cases under the supervision of SDPO Rajiv Lochan Panda.

The cops will interrogate Tito in connection with the murder of one Raj Kishore Behera and Aswajit Sahu alias Lulu in 2015 and 2013 respectively. During interrogation by STF, Tito had earlier confessed to be the mastermind behind the two murders, sources added.

Tito was arrested following an encounter on June 30 at Chandikhole in Jajpur district by Special  Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch.
