Odisha Police warns of stringent action against mob violence

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police has warned of stringent action against people involved in mob violence and lynching in the state.

The Odisha Police has advised people not to indulge in any type of mob violence.

“The Supreme Court while hearing WP (C) No-754/2016 has made it clear that lynching and mob violence of any kind shall invite serious consequence under law. Hence, it is impressed upon the public not to indulge in any kind of mob violence and lynching which would invite stringent action against all the perpetrators of such crime in accordance with the law of the land,” said the Odisha Police in a statement today.

Every member of the mob or conspirator of such crime shall be subjected to severe punishment, added the statement.
