Odisha polls: Jolt to BJD as Jajati Das quits party

Bhubaneswar: A day after former Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation Chairman Raghunath Mohanty quit the ruling party of the state, BJD leader Jajati Das tendered his resignation today.

The state Advisor of Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD), Jajti Das deserted the conch party and sent his resignation letter to party president Naveen Patnaik, ending a two-decade long relationship with BJD.

“I have been sincere and dedicated to my party and the leader. However, in the recent developments in the party the people of Simulia and Balasore have been pursuing me to resign from the party,” he wrote while quitting his post in BYJD and the primary membership.

According to reports, his desertion will be a major jolt to BJD as he is touted to make a move to the saffron party with as many as five thousand supporters.
