Odisha Polls: Naveen optimistic about BJD performance

Highly optimistic of his party’s performance in the forthcoming elections, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday rolled out the BJD’s campaign from the Hinjli Assembly constituency, his home turf.

Launching the party’s campaign with a road show in Sheragada in Hinjili assembly constituency, Patnaik appealed to the people to vote for the conch symbol of the BJD.

The BJD supremo conducted road shows in all the 21 panchayats of Hinjili block and 21 out of 22 panchayats in Sheragada block during his hectic, day-long campaigning.

Patnaik will be covering the left out panchayat of Balichai in Sheragada block tomorrow, said a local BJD leader.

The BJD president also campaigned for his party candidates in Brahmapur and Gopalpur in the district.

“I am very confident that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will do extremely well in the forthcoming elections,” Patnaikt old reporters during his campaign.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to campaign in several other areas in the district on Thursday.

Patnaik is seeking a re-election from Hinjili for the fourth consecutive time. He was first elected to the Assembly from the seat in 2000.
