Odisha polls: Prafulla Ghadai appointed BJD Vice-President

Bhubaneswar:  Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik today appointed senior leader and former Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai as party’s Vice-President two days ahead of the second phase polls in the State.

This was informed to the media by BJD’s State General Secretary Bijay Nayak in a statement this evening.

Earlier in the day, Ghadai was appointed as senior observer for Khordha, Ranpur and Chilika Assembly constituencies.

It may be recalled here that Patnaik had revoked the expulsion on Ghadai on March, who was expelled from the party for his intemperate outburst against the leadership in an interview to a local newspaper in September, 2014.

Earlier speaking to the media, the veteran leader had said that he is no more interested to be in electoral politics.
