Odisha polls: Rs. 5 lakh unaccounted cash seized in Kalahandi

Kalahandi: Incidents of seizure of unaccounted cash is rising in the state with the elections around the corner.

Cash worth Rs. 5 lakh has been seized from a motorcycle-borne rider on Khutulguda chowk in Koksara area of Kalahandi today.

The rider, detained by the poll flying squad, has been identified as Sudam Bhoi, a resident of Barahaguda village of Bargarh. He was astride a Honda motorbike bearing the number OR-08-G-6963.

Last night, around unaccounted cash worth lakhs, has been seized in various parts of the state. The poll flying squad seized Rs. 6.7 lakh from a Bolero car in Sundergarh during a raid on Koida bus stand. In a separate incident, Rs. 6 lakh was seized from the possession of Rajgangpur town Congress president Iftikar Ahmed. Furthermore, Rs. 5 lakh was seized in a raid in Gunupur.
