Odisha: Pregnant woman crushed to death under truck wheels

Nuapada: In a tragic incident, a pregnant woman died after she was crushed under the wheels of a truck on under-construction Biju Expressway near Binopur village under Boden police limits in Nuapada district today.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sabita Nag of Binopur village. Her family source said that she was 8-month pregnant.

According to reports, the pregnant woman was travelling with her relative identified as Lakhi Salama  on a motorcycle today. The duo was knocked down after the two wheeler collided head-on with a dumper truck on the Biju Expressway near the village.

The duo was rescued with help of a JCB machine. While Sabita died on the way to a hospital, two wheeler rider was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Following the incident, the villagers blocked Khariar-Boden road demanding compensation for deceased woman’s family. The police reached the accident site and initiated probe.
