Jeypore: All private bus owners’ associations in undivided Koraput today extended their support to a call earlier given by the district private bus owners’ outfit to observe 24-hour Bandh on October 2.
The State Government is to launch LAccMI scheme tomorrow and the bus service will be provided from all places across the State to Bhubaneswar and Puri, the coordinator of the outfit expressed.
“More than 300 buses in the undivided Koraput district will not run tomorrow. The 24-hour cease-wheel (Chaka-Bandh) agitation will be observed from 6.00 am and will continue till 6.00 am of the next day,” the association coordinator Narendra Mohanty said.
Worth mentioning, All Odisha Bus Owners’ Association decided to go on an indefinite strike across the State from October 10, in its General Body meeting held in Bhubaneswar on September 27.
According to the association sources, the strike has been called opposing the LAccMI scheme of the Odisha Government, which is to be launched in Malkangiri on October 2 and the 24-hour Bandh will be carried out in the undivided Koraput district.
Accordingly, the private buses will not run from Koraput, Malkangiri, Jeypore, and Nabarangpur districts to outside places across the State and vice versa.
