All Odisha Private Medical Establishment Forum (AOPMEF), a body of private hospitals today announced to put on hold its proposed one-day strike tomorrow for a month.
AOPMEF president Ajay Mishra made the announcement to reporters after a meeting of the Forum following the meeting of its office-bearers with Health Secretary Arti Ahuja at the State Secretariat here today.
The government promised to examine various demands put forth by the Forum.
The Forum at its meeting decided to put on hold the proposed one-day strike for a month.
The members of the Forum had earlier at a press conference on Saturday had alleged that despite repeated reminders authorities have failed to provide renewal of license and registrations.
Besides, they had demanded amendment to the Fire Services Act.
It may be mentioned here that the Forum had extended its support to Manoj Nayak, the Trustee of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital who was arrested following the fire tragedy that killed 29 persons. Expressing solidarity, it had announced to go on an agitation on November 1.
