Odisha puts one more dist in Red zone after steep hike in COVID-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Angul has been categorized as Red Zone as the district reported as many as 13 COVID-19 cases, informed Collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty today.

As per official information, 11 Surat returnees, one Maharashtra returnee and a local tested positive for the virus. The returnees were kept at quarantine centres in the district.

Angul reported its maiden COVID-19 case and became the 20th affected district of the state. It is also the 5th district and 6th area of the state to be declared as Red Zone.

Earlier, Balasore district, Bhadrak district, Jajpur district, areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Ganjam district were categorized as Red Zone.
