Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express with advanced Tejas coaches started its regular service from Odisha capital here today.
The regular service of the express train with Tejas coaches commenced today via Sambalpur and Rourkela cities only, said sources in the East Coast Railway (ECoR).
Senior officials of Khurda Road Division of ECoR led by Additional Divisional Manager Kalyan Patnaik inspected the train before its departure from Bhubaneswar Railway Station, sources added.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had flagged off the express train with Tejas coaches at Bhubaneswar Railway Station here on August 14.
The train fitted with Tejas coaches can run at 200 km per hour.
The Tejas coaches have modern facilities including electro-pneumatic assisted brakes, passenger information system and electronic passenger reservation chart integrated with infotainment system (LCD on back of chair), added the official.
