Bhubaneswar: The cumulative fund collection under District Mineral Foundation (DMF) in Odisha has reached Rs 23,120 crore by June 30 this year.

This was revealed by Union Minister of Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi at Rajya Sabha today.

Odisha received cumulative funds to the tune of Rs 5,237.58 crore under DMF from coal/lignite, Rs 17,755.20 crore from major minerals other than coal and lignite and Rs 127.21 crore from minor minerals, said the minister.

As per the rules, at least 60 per cent funds under DMF are spent on high priority activities and up to 40 per cent funds on other priority activities.

The cumulative allocation under DMF in Odisha is 97 per cent of the cumulative collection in the state, added the minister.

“The cumulative allocation under DMF in Odisha stood at Rs 22,480.09 crore by June 30 this year. This is 97 per cent of the cumulative collection in the state,” said Joshi.

Out of the allocated funds, the state has spent Rs 13,478 crore on various projects till June 30 this year, he added.
