Odisha records BIG jump in daily COVID-19 cases with 394 infections

Bhubaneswar: Odisha today saw a big spike in its daily COVID-19 cases with 394 persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s total caseload surged to 3,41,311.

Khordha district registered the highest spike of 70 cases followed by Kalahandi (43), Nuapada (40), Sundargarh  (31), Cuttack (27) and Angul (24).

Of the total fresh cases, detected from 25 districts,  231 are quarantine cases while remaining 163 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department today.

In the last 24 hours, 29,260 samples were tested in the state.

With the fresh cases, the number of total active cases mounted to 2246. So far 3,37,091 patients have recovered from the disease.
