Odisha recruits teacher educators to up quality of primary education

Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education (S&ME) department has recruited 108 teacher educators to enhance the quality of education in Odisha.

These newly-recruited teacher educators will be posted in the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and Block Institutes of Education and Training (BIETs) across the state, said an official of the S&ME department today.

The Odisha Staff Selection Commission has concluded the selection process for the 108 new teacher educators. The state government will soon issue appointment letters to the selected candidates, he added.

“The recruitment of these highly-skilled teacher educators will ensure the continuous professional development of primary teachers in Odisha. The educators will guide the teachers to hone their knowledge and skills to excel in their profession,” said the official.

The educators will work closely with the S&ME department to design and deliver effective training programmes, conduct workshops and seminars, provide guidance on pedagogy and curriculum development, and foster a culture of innovation in teaching practices, he added.

“The recruitment of teacher educators will strengthen teacher training and skill development in primary education,” said the official.
