The regional weather office has predicted that such conditions would prevail for the next two-three days.

Interior and western parts of the state have recorded temperature below 10 degrees Celsius. The temperature in coastal areas has also registered a drop by few points,” Regional Meteorological Office Director Sarat Chandra Sahu said.

The model indicates that the temperature will further plummet, Sahu added.

The chilly accompanied with foggy conditions are prevailing till 10-11 am leaving people shivering in spine-chilling cold.

Of the 24 stations for which India Meteorological Department (IMD) collected daily temperature, 23 recorded night temperature below 15 degree Celsius yesterday which showed that the grip of the cold wave was uniform.
