Odisha reels under heat wave; Titlagarh boils at 41.5 deg C

Bhubaneswar:  A severe heat wave continued to grip many parts of Odisha with Titlagarh recorded the highest at 41.5 degree Celsius.

The mercury soared above 41 degree Celsius in as may as five places in the State, a Met office release said this evening.

In State Capital Bhubaneswar, however, the mercury remained below 40 degree Celsius mark. The maximum temperature settled at 36.4 degree Celsius.

Cuttack recorded 36 degree Celsius.

The maximum day temperature at Malkangiri and Sonepur touched 41.2 degree Celsius, Talcher (41.1), Bolangir (41), Bhawanipatna (40.3 ) and Jharsuguda (40.2).

The IMD has predicted that there will be no significant change in maximum temperature in some districts of the state in the next few days.
