Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered its 11th death due to COVID-19 as a 50-year-old man of Ganjam district died of the disease, official sources said today.
The patient died while undergoing treatment at a COVID hospital. He was suffering from underlying comorbidities of diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sources said.
On the other hand, the number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha mounted to 3909 as 186 more persons tested positive for the virus. They include 13 NDRF/ODRAF/Fire service personnel who had returned from West Bengal after Cyclone Amphan restoration work.
Out of the 186 cases, 171 were detected in quarantine while 15 are local contact cases.
