Odisha reports 141 fresh COVID-19 positive cases; count rises to 2245

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha reported 141 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total count to 2245, said the Health and Family Welfare Department today.

The fresh cases are from Ganjam (27), Jajpur(10), Khordha(26), Balasore(2), Kendrapara (13), Cuttack (6) Puri (5), Balangir (7) Jagatsinghpur(4) Nayagarh(1) Sundergarh (8),Nuapada(19), Gajapati (4), Keonjhar(4), Mayurbhanj(1), Angul(1), Dhenkanal(2) and Sambalpur(1).

Of the fresh cases, as many as 31 cases are local contacts and rest 110 have been reported from different quarantine centres across the state. Total 3877 samples were tested yesterday. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department.

Worth mentioning,  the state had reported the highest single-day spike of 156 positive cases yesterday.  With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 991 while 1245 have recovered in the state. So far, seven persons have succumbed to the virus.
