Odisha reports 2244 new COVID-19 cases; here’re district-wise figures

Bhubaneswar:   As many as 2244 more persons in Odisha tested positive for deadly Coronavirus in the last  24 hours . With this, the state’s total count rose to 62, 294, informed the Government.

While 1390 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 854 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 29 districts with Khordha registering highest 311 cases followed by Ganjam (243) and Cuttack (194).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 19,612. However, 42,276 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that highest 50,421 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 9,58,929 tests have been conducted in the state.
