Odisha reports 63 more COVID-19 cases; tally mounts to 1723

Bhubaneswar: A total number COVID-19 cases in Odisha surged to 1723 with 63 more positive cases reported today, informed State Health & Family Welfare Department.

With this, the active cases in the State now stand at 827.

According to State Health & Family Welfare Department, total 4259 samples were tested on Thursday, of which 63 were found positive for COVID-19. Out of 63 cases, 61 are found in quarantine centres and 2 are local contacts.

However, two patients undergoing treatment at COVID hospitals died due to other complications.

“One 72 year male of Balasore district and one 42 year male of Khordha district, both’s death is other than COVID,” the H&FW clarified today.

The samples tested positive are from 15 districts included Ganjam (4), Balasore (3), Khordha (12), Cuttack (3), Puri (1), Nayagarh (7), Balangir (6), Jagatsinghpur (11), Sundargarh (2), Mayurbhanj (1), Dhenkanal (9), Sambalpur (1), Koraput (1), Jharsuguda (1) and Nabarangpur (1).
