Odisha reports 86 new COVID-19 cases; tally reaches 1189

Bhubaneswar: A total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 1189 in Odisha after 86 new positive cases were reported today, informed Health & Family Welfare Department.

Of 86 cases, 46 are in Jajpur district, 11 in Cuttack, 6 in Nayagarh, 5 in Ganjam, 3 each in Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Khordha and Puri, 2 in Balangir and 1 in Sundargarh districts.

With this, the active number of COVID cases now stands at 789.

According to Health & Family Welfare Department, total 1,13,446 RT PCR tests have been conducted of which 1189 cumulative samples were found positive for COVID-19 till May 21. Out of 86 new cases, 80 persons were tested positive in quarantine centres, one in containment zone and five were locals.
