Odisha reports all-time-high 561 fresh COVID-19 cases; here’re district-wise details

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported all-time-high in COVID-19 positive cases today after as many as 561 persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, informed Health and Family Welfare Department.

With the fresh cases, the state’s tally crossed 8000-mark and stood at 8,106.

Of the total  fresh cases, 424 have been detected from quarantine centres while remaining 136 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the department.

While 560 cases have been reported from 19 districts with Ganjam registering highest 283 cases, remaining one case is a NDRF personnel, who was under quarantine after returning from Amphan duty in West Bengal.

The 560 cases are from Bargarh (21), Bhadrak (1), Balangir (19), Cuttack (81), Dhenkanal (3), Ganjam ( 283), Jagatsinghpur (6), Jajpur (3), Jharsuguda (2), Kalahandi (5), Kendrapada (2), Keonjhar (6), Khordha (26), Koraput (4), Mayurbhanj (10), Puri (1), Rayagada (76), Sambalpur (8) and Sundargarh (3).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 2567. However, 5502 patients have recovered from the disease while 27 succumbed to the virus.
