Odisha reports all-time-high 8681 fresh COVID-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a spike of 8681 new COVID-19 cases, highest since the start of the pandemic in the state, in the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s total caseload surged to 4,44,194.

Besides, 14 more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the virus taking the toll to 2043.

Khordha district reported highest 1408 followed by Sundargarh (745) and Cuttack (570). 

Of the fresh cases, 4948 are quarantine cases and remaining 3733 are local contact cases. In the last 24 hours, 45,452 samples were tested. Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the state rose to 61,698.
