Odisha: Ropes to be used during Ratha Jatra delivered to SJTA

Puri: Ropes to be used during the annual Ratha Jatra of Holy Trinity reached the office of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Puri today.

Sources said a total of 20 ropes were handed over to the temple administration for Ratha Jatra. While 14 ropes will be used for chariot pulling, six ropes will be utilised for cordoning off the three chariots.

The Odisha Cooperative Coir Corporation provided the ropes to the temple administration.

Worth mentioning, the Ratha Jatra will be held on June 23 this year. In view of COVID-19 pandemic, public and devotees will not be allowed to participate in the festival. The Ratha Jatra will be held only with the participation from servitors.

Ahead of Snana Jatra tomorrow, the temple administration and servitors stepped up their preparations.

As per the schedule, ‘Pahandi’ of the Holy Trinity will begin at 1 am on June 5.
