Odisha: Rs 3.32 lakh looted from petrol pump owner at gunpoint

Jajpur: In a daring heist, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 3.32 lakh from a petrol pump owner at gunpoint, just 50 metres away from Danagadi police outpost in Jajpur district yesterday.

However, police have begun an investigation following a complaint lodged the petrol pump owner identified as Rajan Kumar Sahu (45), a native of Nihalprasad village in Dhenkanal district. Rajan owns Geeta petrol pump near Danagadi on Duburi-Jajpur road.

Source said when Rajan was going to deposit the cash at State Bank of India (SBI) near Military Chhak in the afternoon yesterday, three miscreants came on a bike and attempted to snatch the cash containing bag from Rajan. The looters later took away the cash bag brandishing gun and fled towards Duburi.

Later, Rajan filed a complaint at Danagadi police outpost, following which the cops began an investigation.
