Odisha: Rural Works junior clerk under Vigilance scanner, searches underway in four districts

Simultaneous house searches are being conducted by a Vigilance team comprising 3 DSPs, 9 Inspectors ,1SI, 2 ASIs and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

Rourkela:  A team from Odisha Vigilance is carrying out raids in the properties of a junior clerk in Rourkela in Odisha’s Sundargarh district today after allegations of him amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income came to the fore. The accused is Nanda Kishore Nath, a junior clerk in the office of executive engineer in the Rural Works Division of Rourkela here.

As per reports, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by a Vigilance team comprising 3 DSPs, 9 Inspectors ,1SI, 2 ASIs and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. The searches are underway at six places in Bhubaneswar, Baragarh, Rourkela and Sambalpur. The properties being raided include:

1.Residential house of  Nath at Sai Krupa Enclave in Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar.

2. His parental house at VSS Nagar in Bargarh town

3. Government residential quarter at Rural Works Colony, Panposh, Near Hockey Chowk , Rourkela

4. Office chamber in Rourkela

5. House at Ainthapalli, Sambalpur.

6. His relative’s house in Sambalpur.

The raids were ongoing till reports last came in. Further details are awaited.
