Odisha: ‘Sambad’ felicitates HSC meritorious students

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s leading vernacular daily ‘Sambad’ felicitated the meritorious students, who successfully cleared the annual matric examination 2018, during a function here on Thursday.

Total 390 students passed the examination with A-1 grade from the districts Khordha, Puri and Nayagarh were felicitated by ‘Sambad’ at a programme held at Hotel Swosti Premium in Bhubaneswar.

The students of other districts who have achieved A-1 grade will be felicitated in phases. The felicitation programme will conclude in Jeypore.

Attending the function, Fifth State Finance Commission Chairman Rabinarayan Senapati gave success mantra to the meritorious students.

“Discipline, sincerity and social commitments are three keys to success,” he said.

Addressing the students during the function, Rajya Sabha MP Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, who is the Editor of Sambad, advised them not to boast of the success having A-1 grade in the exam.

He suggested them to be grateful to their parents and school teachers for their success.

“Parents are the first to be given the credit for the achievement of their children. The contribution of school teacher in strengthening the foundation of a child in education is incomparable,” said Patnaik.

In his address, he also suggested the parents to give freedom to their children to choose their profession as per their passion.
