Puri, Aug 14:

On the eve of the 68th Independence Day, renowned Odisha sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo created a sand sculpture to pay homage to those who brought us freedom, near the Light House at the golden sea beach in Puri, on Thursday.

The 5 feet high and 20 feet long sand sculpture made by Sahoo with the assistance of his team depicts the tricolour and the great patriots of the nation who sacrificed their lives for freedom with the message; “Get together with hand on hand, as our nation is best land.”

“While other countries won their independence after an armed struggle, India achieved freedom with the ‘weapons’ of peace and non-violence.

The sculpture pays tributes to their immense sacrifice for the cause of independence,” Sahoo said about his creation.
