Odisha: Sarvodaya leader Sumitra Choudhuri passes away

Bhubaneswar: Sarvodaya leader from Odisha and veteran freedom fighter Rama Devi’s daughter-in-law, Sumitra Choudhuri, today passed away at her residence in Cuttack today.

She breathed her last at age of 96. Her last rites will be performed in Cuttack tomorrow.

Sumitra Choudhury had married to Manmohan Choudhuri, the son of Rama Devi and Gopabandhu Choudhuri. She was also close to Mahatma Gandhi. She had participated in Sarvodaya movement called by Gandhi for rural construction and uplifting people in rural India.
